“I am the sum of my story’s parts, but my story does not define me any more than yours does for you.”

Thank you for Your

Love

A Memoir of Survival, Healing, and Joy

Thank You For Your Love is an unflinching and luminous memoir by Mireille Barnard, chronicling a journey through pain, trauma, and the courageous reclamation of self.

From the beaches of South Africa’s Wild Coast to moments of unbearable loss and rebirth, Mireille shares her story with raw honesty and tender wisdom. Through self-destruction and silence, through the devastating loss of her brother and the long road of recovery, she discovers that love — in all its complex, imperfect forms — is the thread that binds our humanity.

This is more than a story of survival. It is an invitation to look at your own wounds with compassion, to remember that even in your darkest moments, love has never left you. Thank You For Your Love reminds us that healing does not mean erasing the past — it means transforming it into light.

Courageous, heartbreaking, and ultimately uplifting, this memoir is for anyone who has ever wondered if they could start again — and for those who are ready to believe that they can.

Mireille Barnard

Through her vulnerability practice, she guides others to reconnect with their authentic selves and embrace the wholeness that comes from radical honesty and self-compassion.

Mireille writes with a rare combination of insight and tenderness, inviting readers to see that healing is not about becoming someone new, but about remembering who you were before the world told you to forget.

She lives on South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal North Coast with her three children, where she continues to write, teach, and walk alongside others on their own journeys back to love.
